Ian's wealth of entertainment experience comes from his time at Ubisoft and EA which in turn led to his role as Managing Director, International at IGN where he was responsible for its global expansion and making IGN the #1 video games media network in the world. Before joining Mind Candy Ian was Chief Digital Officer at GAME Digital Plc.
Michael Acton Smith
Founder, Chairman & Creative Director
Michael co-founded online retailer Firebox.com before his passion for games and puzzles led him to found Mind Candy. Aside from creating Moshi Monsters, Michael has founded networking events such as Silicon Drinkabout, Second Chance Tuesday, Ping Pong Fight Club and Berwickstock – a secret music festival.
Rich started out in the music industry in London in the mid-90s, developing his experience over the last 20 years through businesses spanning the media, games and events industries. His most recent role was at Sony where he was UK Marketing Director for PlayStation, responsible for the marketing of PlayStation products such as PS4 and PSVR.
Ian is charged with building an amazing engineering team, scalable infrastructure and DevOps culture that embraces change, growth, rapid iteration, experimentation and collaboration at scale. For over 20 years, he has worked in system operations in the online media industries, helping those businesses come up with solutions to all their tech challenges and needs.
Steve dreams up silly, surreal and occasionally serious stuff for Mind Candy’s various projects, and has worked alongside Michael for many years. Before writing and singing about Moshlings, Warriors and more, Steve spent his time creating copy and concepts for countless major brands across the globe.
Helen has been with Mind Candy since 2010, seeing the company through all of its amazing adventures, from Moshi Monsters and Warriors to Petlandia and more. A qualified Chartered Accountant, Helen oversees all finances as well as legal, HR and office management.
