Mind Candy is based in London and develops new types of Social Multi-Player Online Games. Our first product was the groundbreaking Perplex City, and we are now 100% focused on an exciting new game for children called Moshi Monsters (a cross between Tamagotchi, Brain Training, and Facebook for kids).

Assistant Operations Manager

Head of Localisation

We are looking for an exceptional Head of Localisation to join our growing team and take Moshi Monsters global!

The Role
With kids playing Moshi Monsters in over 200 countries around the world, we already have massive global reach and are now planning on localising Moshi Monsters in a variety of different languages worldwide. We are looking for an ambitious and talented person with proven localisation experience to join us and head up this challenging project and work closely with other teams such as tech, creative, marketing, community, CS and finance to ensure the timely delivery of localized products of optimal quality.

  • Driving localisation operations and making strategic decisions on localisation processes, standards, tools and resources
  • Identifying and prioritising market opportunities for localisation based on ROI

Linux Systems Administrator

This is a brand new role supporting one of the fastest growing online games in the world. As our Systems Administrator you will be installing, configuring, maintaining and supporting the Linux systems we have in place to host our games and support our internal infrastructure.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Creating, supporting and maintaining remote and locally hosted servers
  • Improving availability and utilization of Linux environments
  • Verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes
  • Supporting 24×7x365 network operations

The Role
This is a completely new role for Mind Candy and is a truly fantastic opportunity for a mini games developer to come in and make games. As our Mini Games Developer you will be joining a newly created team to design, develop and maintain our mini games portfolio and increase player acquisition and retention.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Developing mini games that meet graphic gameplay design and server-side requirements
  • Creating high quality code inline with company standards and practices
  • Developing codebase for mini games and related software
  • Maintaining and continually improving the mini game codebase so that it is well architected and optimised

What we’re looking for in you

Front-End Development Lead

Overview:

As a Development Lead reporting to the CTO, you will be responsible for the leadership and management of a team of highly motivated and creative front-end developers. Using the latest technologies and applying techniques from a wide range of sources, you will lead the development of Mind Candy’s properties, communicating with stakeholders and game developers to develop games and features that use and improve Mind Candy’s existing technology platform, working alongside producers, designers, illustrators, animators and test engineers in a fast paced agile environment.

You will need exceptional problem-solving skills, relationship management and communication skills, a strong background in technology and computer science and the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities / Objectives:

  • Working with and leading team members in an exciting and fun quick moving environment to design, develop and ensure the quality of rich media, web-based applications built primarily with Adobe Flash
  • Understanding and being responsible for all technical aspects of the front-end systems in Mind Candy’s products
  • Working with the CTO to ensure that best practices of programming and working are adhered to and that the solutions selected are the most timely, best performing and lowest cost to achieve the best outcome
  • Advanced problem solving
  • Meeting tight deadlines
  • Actively participating in Mind Candy’s Scrum process and encouraging participation amongst team members
  • Duties as required as part of our on-going recruitment process

Required Skills:

  • Good knowledge of Flash
