Official Contest Rules

1. Who is running the Contest?

We are Mind Candy Limited and our offices are at 4th Floor Bonhill Building, 15 Bonhill Street, London, EC2A 4DN, United Kingdom (“we”, “us“, “Mind Candy“). We are running this Competition and you can write to us at this address if you have any questions.

2. Who can enter this Contest?

This Competition is open to anyone. But, most importantly, you must check with your parent or guardian before entering if you are under 16.

Some people may comply with the rules above but still can’t enter this Competition because it would be unfair. These people are Mind Candy’s employees and family.

One entry per person.

3. How do I enter?

Once you have checked that you are allowed to enter (and if you are under 16, you have your parent’s or guardian’s consent) it is time to submit your answer.

Please send your entry to us between the Opening Date and Closing Date. We cannot accept any entries received after the Closing Date so please don’t be late. You must send your entry to us by the method described on our Competition page on our social media pages, websites or apps (“Competition Page”).

4. How are the Winner and Runners-up (if any) chosen?

Our independent judge will review all valid entries received before the Closing Date and award each a score based on the relevant criteria described on the Competition Page. The entry with the highest score will be the winner. If there are prizes for runners-up, then the entries with the next highest scores will be the runners-up.

All of our judges are fair and independent and their decision is final. Please do not try to contact our judges directly or you may be disqualified.

We will pick the winner and the runners-up within ten days after the Closing Date.

5. How do I know I have won?

If you have won then we will contact you within 10 days of selecting the winner and any runners-up. This is why it is important that you remember to include your contact details when you send us your entry. We may also announce the winner on our Competition Page, social media pages, websites or apps but we may choose not to do this or it may happen later.

6. Do you contact my parent or guardian if I have won?

If you are under 16 and you are the winner or a runner-up, then we will contact your parent or guardian using the contact details you provided to us. We will ask them if they let you enter the Competition and if they are happy with these rules. If they are, then they must confirm to us that they are and then we will be able to send you your Prize. Make sure your parent or guardian writes back to us within 14 days or we may have to give the Prize to someone else.

7. What are the Prizes?

The Prizes and delivery method are described on the Competition Page. We are not responsible for any prizes that are lost, delayed or damaged during delivery, such as in the post. If your contact details change you should let us know so we can send you the Prize if you win.

If, for any reason, the Prize is unavailable, we may substitute a prize of equal or greater value. There is no cash alternative. We may also award the Prize to your parent or legal guardian on your behalf.

8. Do I have to take part in publicity?

If you are the winner or a runner-up we may communicate your name to the public. You may also have to help us with a future promotion (like having your photo taken with your prize).

9. What are the rules I must follow for this Contest?

When you send us your entry you must confirm that:

  • if you are under 16, you have asked for your parent’s or legal guardian’s consent;
  • you have read and agreed to these Competition Terms and Conditions; and
  • you have given us all the information that is required by us and the information must be accurate.

If you do not follow these Competition Terms and Conditions or cheat or we have reason to believe that you have cheated then we can disqualify you or cancel the Competition completely.

10. Does Mind Candy own any rights in my entry?

By sending us your entry you agree to grant to us an unlimited, royalty-free licence to use all the content that you send to us. This means that we can use your entry in any way that we see fit and can make changes to your entry. You also promise to sign (or get your parent or legal guardian to sign) any documents that give us these rights.

We do not have to say that the entry was created by you (this is called waiving your moral rights).

You (or your parent / legal guardian confirm that you) understand that you are not entitled to receive any compensation or credit for use of your entry.

11. Will you cancel or change the Contest?

In unusual circumstances, we may have to change some of the rules of the Competition or cancel it completely. We hope we don’t have to, but if we do then we will let you know by posting on our Competition Page. Please check the Competition Page for any updates.

12. How do we use information about you? (Privacy Policy)

We have a Privacy Policy which tells you what we will do with information about you (such as your name and contact details) which can be found at http://mindcandy.com/privacy

13. Limitation of Liability and Release

We will do our best to make sure the Competition runs smoothly but sometimes things go wrong. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you (or your parents) agree to release us and our staff from all liability for any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the Competition. Nothing in these terms and conditions limits or excludes Mind Candy’s liability for death or personal injury as a result of its negligence or for fraud.

14. Other Legal Clauses

Severability: If any provision of these rules are found to be illegal or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these rules can otherwise remain in full force and effect and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. Governing Law and Jurisdiction: The Competition is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
