Mind Candy Acquires Games Studio Origami Blue

We’re hugely excited to announce that we’ve acquired games studio Origami Blue to launch our new innovation centre ‘Candy Labs’ down in Brighton.

Origami Blue was set up by ex-Disney Blackrock studios creatives Edd Smith, Mark Knowles-Lee and James Ovnik, who will come on board as full-time Mind Candy employees.

Candy Labs will be a research and development studio that experiments with new ideas to spin up the next wave of ground-breaking entertainment for children. The ideas will be a mix of digital and non-digital entertaiment. Some of the concepts will be acquired from third parties, but most will originate in-house.

Michael and the team have lots of new ideas bubbling away and can’t wait to see them come to life!
